I've always been an active person, and up through days of childhood I've dropped into gymnastics, athletics, football and speed skating, that I'm still busy with. I began speed skating when I was 10 years old. It was Ellen S. Gulliksen, my old and still good friend who persuaded me to come along to this one training, in hope for me to begin speed skating. After this one training session, you can say that it have been a good many others. I've always been trained by Ivar Sletsjøe. In all my years as a skater, I've been willing to train hard and quite passionate for what I do, but it have been specially the last years that things have started to work out for me, and then especially at the longer distances. But in the last couple of years I've also developed my self as a better all-rounder...

Why this website
We are 4 speedskatingfans from Holland and cheer especially for all the Norwegian skaters. So this year we also cheered for Tore during his Worldcupdebut in Berlin and a week later in Heerenveen and saw 2 great races! After the races we spoke a little with Tore and got to know him as a very friendly and nice person.
The National Allroundchampionships were followed by us via Internet with great interest. It was really exciting and in the end we were very happy for Tore that he reached the 3th place and qualification for the ECH (we thought). But in Norway you are never sure till the official selection is published so we waited for that. And to our 'great' suprise we saw that Tore wasn't selected immediately but that he had to skate a skate-off...against Øystein Grødum, 6th at the NCH... Really ridiculous and absurd!!!!
As said is this is by far not the first time that the Norwegian skating union makes unfair and controversial selections and decisions. We are really done with it and won't just let it happen without doing anything. Unfortunately there isn't much that we can do but, with making this website we want at least show our anger about this absurd decision and at the same time support Tore!
We want to make this site known by as much people as possible and hope that a lot of people will give their opinion here! And in this way show the Norwegian Skating Union how absurd their selectionpolicy is!!!
To make it clear, this isn't an action/website against Øystein Grødum. He is absolutely a great skater and a great person! It's only a protest against the absurd decision of the Norwegian Skating Union!
